The color banding of the dunes in this abstract art image as they move toward the horizon is accomplished via controlled variation in the color intensity and saturation of the bands. As expected with this type of ”color banded” treatment, the hard-edged boundaries separating the bands are alive. The deep blue sky of this abstract landscape provides a weight that pushes against the desert below.
