The darker fields, banded in the foreground, of themselves are not vibrant, but the juxtaposition of the fields against the higher intensity background sky layers produces a perceptual vibrancy that feeds back into the fields. The hard edges of the banded fields and layered sky create interesting color interactions in their own right.
