A Kiss is Just A Kiss, 30x40"
This piece began with the intent to build a three dimensional object and its mirror image. It’s 3D “feel” was to be enhanced via the use of line and, most obviously, color variations within the object, and, between the object and the field it resides on. This is what resulted from that rather hazy outline of a painting objective. As the object became more well defined, I saw it as the two objects kissing, albeit fish-like, which led to the title’s reference, likely mangled, to the Jazz tune “As Tears Go By”.
