Moving to LA
Moving to LA, 40x30
This abstract art piece documents a “shifting of flats” from oceanside Oregon to oceanside LA (Santa Monica). The move to the south yields warmer tones, changes in visible flora and changes in the mountain tonalities. At the time I was viewing my move through the eyes of a remote observer, viewing the magnitude of change at a distance, from the ocean. Perhaps the unsettled quality of the ocean waves hints at the my uncertainty over the move’s outcome, or, the roller coaster quality of moving in general.
