Riverscape

Riverscape, Abstract Art by Henry Manning

Riverscape, 40x30

This image is of a strip of land at a river’s mouth acting as a breakwater for incoming small craft. It was an exercise in angular line drawing that reflects the effect that variations in shoreline have on the shape of the landmass. The undulating feeling to the overall painting is related to the rise and fall of the landmass and the bands of river closer to the viewer.
